Ten years later… Barcelona Supercross is back!

The event that made history for indoor motorcycling events in Barcelona, back on November 17th

The International Barcelona Supercross, one of the city’s major indoor sport events from 1990 to 2008, will be back to the Palau Sant Jordi arena on the 17th of November. Ten years have past since the last run of this event, featuring thrilling motocross racing and the astonishing freestyle contest.

The first run of Barcelona Supercross -November, 1990- was the very first motorsport event to take place in the brand-new Palau Sant Jordi olympic arena. Huge success led to a bunch of “sold out” events.

The mixture of thrilling races, the amazing freestyle contest and some of the best riders both from Europe and America, made this event a “must” not only for Spanish motorcycling fans but also for anybody eager to watch an action-packed and stunning show.

Legends of supercross in the United States AMA championship, such as Rick Johnson, Jeremy McGrath, Jeff Stanton, Mike LaRocco and Larry Ward or Europeans Jean-Michel Bayle and David Vuillemin have always mentioned Barcelona as an event “with an incredible, unique and fantastic racing atmosphere”. Local hero Edgar Torronteras –the Barcelona-born rider raced in the event junior class in 1990-, is still active and will take part in the freestyle contest of the 20th Barcelona Supercross and Freestyle event.

For so many reasons, the show on the 17th of November will be a day in Barcelona sports history and an unforgettable event.
